Les Amis de la Terre-Togo in conjunction with the programme CC DARE- "Climate Change and Development - Adapting by Reducing Vulnerability" http://ccdare.org held from 19 to 23 July 2010 a broad national campaign with sessions in Lomé, Atakpamé, Sokodé, Kara and Dapaong.
The aim was to inform civil society players about climate change and to provide them with information on vulnerability and response to climate change in Togo's key agriculture and energy sectors.

An information and training day for the international volunteer work camps for the 2010 round was held at the Collège Protestant de Lomé-Tokoin last Saturday 3 July.

The project to bring safe drinking water, initiated by the Federation of Development Committees for the district of Fiokpo (Togo) with the support of Les Amis de la Terre-Togo, seeks to meet the needs of the population of ten villages (15,000 inhabitants) for drinking water, with due regard for their natural environment.
The project includes securing the mountain source, piping, filtration, chlorination, reservoir, distribution network, water fountains and dozens of individual connections. The total cost of the project is 487,837 Euro .
We have received finance of 200,000 Euro from the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation (namely 41 per cent of the total).
These funds combined with the contribution from the population in voluntary labour estimated at 68,297 Euro (namely 14 per cent of the total) have allowed the implementation of 55 per cent of the project.
We are now seeking complementary funds of 219,526 Euro (namely 45 per cent of the total cost) to ensure full and complete achievement of the project.
We make this appeal for support from well-wishers to complete the finance and thus guarantee that the goals are achieved.
